Statement of Beliefs
We Believe:
- That the Bible is the inspired and infallible word of God. (2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
- That there is only one God, creator of all things, eternally existing in three manifestations: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; and that in Jesus dwells the fullness of the Godhead bodily. (John 1:1-3; Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 3:16)
- In the Virgin Birth: that Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. (Matthew 1:18-23; Luke 1: 26-35)
- That all men have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that salvation is through the blood of Jesus. (Romans 3:23; Ephesians 1:7)
- In Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. (Matthew 28:6; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 15:4)
- In water baptism, by immersion, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins as stated in Acts 2: 38, which is the fulfillment of Matthew 28:19. (Romans 6:4; Acts 19:5; Mark 16:16)
- In the baptism and infilling of the Holy Ghost and the speaking in tongues, as the Spirit gives utterance. (Acts 2:4; Matthew 3:11)
- The Lord’s Supper and the washing of the saints’ feet. (1 Corinthians 11:26; John 13:14-15)
- Holiness to be God’s standard of living for the saints. (1 Peter 1:15-16; Hebrews 12:14)
- In the nine spiritual gifts and five ministerial gifts. (1 Corinthians 12: 3-11; Romans 12:3-8; Ephesians 4: 7-16)
- In the second coming of Christ and in the bodily resurrection first of those who have died in Christ and then of those who are alive and remain to be caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the air. (Matthew 24:27, 30; 1 Corinthians 15: 51-52; 1 Thessalonians 4:17)
- In the judgment of the wicked dead and that whosoever is not found written in the Book of life will be receive eternal punishment in the lake of fire. (Matthew 25:46; Revelation 20:11-15)
- That God created humans as male or female; two distinct genders that both reflect the image and likeness of God. Any attempt to change one’s biological gender is rejection of God’s image and likeness within that person and is considered sinful. (Genesis 1:26-27; Matthew 19:4)
- That marriage is defined as the exclusive union of one man and one woman as described in the Scriptures. (Genesis 2:25; Matthew 19:4-6)
- That sexual activity should only be between a man and a woman within a marriage. All forms of sexual immorality (including but not limited to fornication, adultery, homosexuality, lesbianism, bestiality, incest, and pornography) are sinful according to Scriptures. (1 Corinthians 6:18; Galatians 5:19; Hebrews 13:4)
- That the Bible is the source of what we believe and is the final authority of matters that govern our truth and conduct. In matters where an interpretation of Scripture is needed, our Council of Apostles & Prophets is the church’s final interpretive authority of the Bible’s meaning and application. (Acts 6:1-6; 15: 1-6)
